What helps before the call
- What you are trying to do, in the terms you would use with a colleague rather than a supplier.
- Where it is stuck, if it is stuck. The awkward part is usually the useful part.
- Any date you are working towards, and what happens if it moves.
You do not need a specification. Working out what the work actually is tends to be the first part of the job.
